Description / Comments:
One way to integrate ethics and civic responsibility into
the service-learning classroom is to use reflection
centered around ethics case studies. This article gives
some examples of case studies that can be used to prompt
student reflection. Futhermore, the article outlines three
basic types of ethics cases that can be considered: those
that require the application of a moral principle to a
situation that is complicated by other factors, those that
involve self-interest competing with the interests of
others, and those that involve competing moral values.
