Walking through his village, a young African boy finds the
materials to make a special toy. Kondi, a seven-year-old
African boy, decides to make a galimoto -- a toy vehicle --
out of scraps of wire. He finds some wire...but it's not
enough, so Kondi searches out more. By nightfall, his
wonderful galimoto is ready for the village children to
play with in the light of the moon. Gentle text and soft
watercolors capture the essence of life in a contemporary
African village.
